Each of our physicians has over 15 years experience in treating pediatric, child, adult, diabetic patients. Our practice offers advanced surgical care of the foot and ankle, such as arthroscopic procedures, trauma care of the foot and ankle, as well as Total Ankle Replacement. Dr. Walkovich and Dr. Russell are also wound care physicians at St. Vincent-Mercy and St. Charles-Mercy and both are affiliated with St. Vincent-Mercy, St. Charles-Mercy, St. Anne-Mercy, Flower Hospital, and Regency Park Surgery Center.

A:ABFAS protects patients by advancing the art and science of podiatric surgery. Our certification ensures that ABFAS-certified surgeons have completed appropriate training, successfully performed a diverse range of podiatric surgical procedures, and passed our extensive written and oral examinations.
Q: What kind of training is required to become board certified by ABFAS today?
A: Certified surgeons must graduate from an accredited four year podiatric medical school and complete residency training at a program approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education. They must also have four years of post-doctoral clinical experience and present a diverse mix of documented cases for review by the ABFAS Credentials Committee.
